There are many different levels and qualities of gate automation systems on the market.  We fit high-quality and reliable systems manufactured by CAME BPT.  They are well engineered and robust systems which provide reliability over time, with an excellent product support for any small part replacements required years down the line.

As leading automation manufacturers, CAME prioritise safety and reliability. Their products are equipped with sensors that detect obstacles and prompt the gates to move back in the opposite direction.  Combined with the correct on site advice on additional safety measures such as photocell placement and  safety ribs we can ensure your electric gate system is compliant with current recommendations.  Additionally, we offer our customers an annual full gate service to ensure proper maintenance of both the automation system and the gates themselves.

Buying an automated gate is not an everyday purchase, please do call us to discuss your individual automation requirements.  We will be able to advise on the best system for your property and usually give you an indication of a price after an intital telephone conversation followed by a site visit where we can go through things in more detail, take measurements and give you an exact quotation. 01787 224848 or email info@tarmecltd.co.uk

For standard opening gates, the most popular choice is the above ground Ram automation systems. The models we fit are calculated to effortlessly handle the weight of our gates to give you dependable functionailty.

One key feature of these systems is their built-in sensitivity. In the event that the gates encounter a stationary obstacle, they stop and move away in the opposite direction. This advanced design, combined with the inclusion of photocells, and where appropriate safety ribs, ensures both a safe and reliable operation.

The image provided showcases the outdoor plug socket on the left, which is the only additional fitting required for our automation system. The grey box houses the control panel, ensuring convenient access and control.

Fitting the arms midway on the gates ensures even distribution of pressure which is critical for timber gates.

We will select the most appropriate-sized arms for your specific gates.

We always recommend you have an alternative pedestrian acces to your property.  We can manufacture and install matching side gates for all of our driveway gate designs and can advise on suitable keyed or digital gate lock options for making this access secure.

Sliding Automation

In certain situations where above ground Ram systems may not be suitable, we offer sliding operated gates as an alternative solution. For these cases, we install a robust CAME motor that is fully capable of smoothly moving the weight of our driveway gates.

The installation process for sliding gates involves fitting a self-cleaning rail into the ground, which serves as the track along which the gate slides. It is crucial to ensure that the surface on which the gate travels is flat and even. In some instances, additional groundwork may be necessary to achieve the desired level surface, as depicted in the image below which our team will also carry out.

To fit the sliding system a glavanised frame is partially constructed in our workshops and later installed and welded on site.  Our sliding gate automation systems are designed with the same built-in safety features as the above ground systems and will usually have safety ribs fitted either on the posts or the ends of the gates for added safety.

For underground automation, we make a slight adjustment to the position of the bottom bar. If you are specifically ordering gates to fit yourself for this type of automation, kindly inform us so that we can accommodate the necessary modification.

Underground Automation

In certain situations where clients dont want to see the arm automation visable we we fit CAME Frog uderground systems.  These support the gate at the base of the hanging stile and are usually fittted with a magnetic closing lock aswell.

Taking more time to fit, these are generally more expensive than above gound automation which is more suited to automation for timber gates.

Entry Systems

While an entry system is by no means compulsory when automating your gates, they are becoming more and more popular.  Most people have mobile phones these days and being able to let people in and out of your property via this wherever you are in the world is a popular feature particularly as parcel deliveries increase.

We provide two options for entry systems. The first is a standard keypad option, allowing you to set up a four-digit pin for granting access to regular guests, such as handymen or cleaners, without providing them with an automatic entry fob.

Or a GSM entry system. With this system, when a visitor presses the button at the gates, it triggers a call to a pre-programmed list of mobile numbers. You can conveniently open the gates directly from your mobile phone, granting access to your property.

In addition to mobile phone operation, this system is also equipped with a keypad for alternative access, as mentioned before.

The GSM entry system also allows the gates to be called by a pre-programmed mobile number as you approach them. For instance, if you have a car voice recognition system, it can be set up to automatically call the gates as you are approaching down the road. This innovative feature eliminates the need for multiple keyfobs and allows the owner to update access users  as and when they wish.

The GSM entry system operates similarly to a mobile phone. Our customers order a low usage monthly sim card which is Volte enabled and which we fit in the intercom. This then calls and accepts messages from the gates to a preprogrammed set of numbers.  This system is more reliable than wifi reliant systems. Reliability is one of the most importamt features you should look for when installing these types of systems.  You dont want to arrive home late at night in the driving rain and your gate doesn’t open because the wifi is down!

We understand that there may seem to be an overload of options here, but at your site visit these we will asses your property and discuss how you would like to use your gates and then can recommend the best solution for you.

You are also welcome to visit our premises, and we can provide a comprehensive explanation of the systems and address any questions or concerns you may have and also have a look at examples of our various gates while you are here!
